Chef Aaron joined Share Our Strength and 1,000 other chefs from around the country at the South Lawn of the White House for the kickoff of "Chefs Move to Schools", a program created by Michelle Obama to battle childhood obesity in America.
"Chefs Move to Schools" is part of the First Lady's Let's Move! Campaign to help end obesity among children, and pairs chefs from across the nation with schools in their local communities. Participating schools and chefs pledge to educate children on where food comes from, gardening, and healthy eating habits, as well as teaching them how to cook healthy meals they can enjoy.
Chef Aaron joined other Food Network chefs Anne Burrell, Cat Cora, and Ellie Krieger at the kickoff event as well as at a breakfast forum hosted by Share Our Strength. The forum, titled, "Healthy Schools, Healthy Kids: How Chefs Can Make a Difference" featured panel discussions by Share Our Strength's founder, Billy Shore, U.S. Secretary of Education Arne Duncan, and White House Assistant Chef Sam Kass.
Interested in participating, or know a school in your community that could benefit from such a program? Visit the Let's Move! Campaign's website to sign up. You can also read more about the campaign by visiting White House Assistant Chef Sam Kass' blog.

Chef Aaron:
This is a great initiative! Here in Philadelphia, I am a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Out Annual Fundraiser is called "Philly's Men Are Cookin".
This year, we would love to feature you as our honored guest. We are also trying to focus on fighting childhood obesity and tie in to our First Lady's initiative.
Here is a link to our foundation's website.

How can we contact you to forward our information? We would love to feature one of our "hometown" chefs at this event.
Thank you in advance.
